As the seasons change, and kids go back to school the colds and flus seem to accelerate in households. I've used a host of natural immunity boosters in our house to either boost our immune systems to keep us from getting sick or to use when we start feeling a little tickle in the throat. Here is a list of some of my personal favorites and how I use them.
- Oregano Oil is a natural anti-fungal, anti-bacterial, and some studies are showing it may even fight off MRSA. I typically use a liquid form and put 4-5 drops under my tongue 5-6x a day when I'm not feeling well, or I put the oil in water and drink it down. It is REALLY strong so don't be surprised by its taste. You can buy it here.
Thieves Oil is an essential oil blend of clove, cinnamon, lemon, eucalyptus, and rosemary. Studies were done on thieves in France who covered themselves with cloves, rosemary, and other aromatics while robbing plague victims, and of course never got sick. I put a few drops on the bottom of my feet at night and put socks on. I've also dropped a few drops into my tea in the morning, and I will use this oil in my oil diffuser when people come over as it is known to kill air-borne bacteria. This is the Thieves Blend I use.
Colloidal Silver - For centuries colloidal silver has been used for its natural anti-microbial properties. I've used this a few different ways; I will just place several drops (read the label, every brand is different) under my tongue and hold there before swallowing, and I've even placed it my husbands ears when he's gotten ear infections from surfing. It truly works wonders, and it has no side effects, and even better no taste :). This is the silver I use.
